Ahh, it’s finally upon us– leaves turning, crisp air blowing, pumpkin spice everythings! The beloved season of Fall has arrived. I must say, in terms of fashion and style, this is my absolute favorite time of year. The wardrobe transition from summer to fall can be crazy fun. Whether you are digging out your favorite fall and winter pieces from last year to return to the front of your closet, or you are finally splurging on that shopping spree you’ve been anxiously awaiting now that all of the new fall styles are in stores, (or both, like me!), ‘falling’ into your cool-weather wardrobe–see what I did there?–continues to be an annual experience of pure delight.
Transitioning your style from season to season may feel a bit overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. There are simple ways to pull together fun, different looks each day .
And this is how: All you need to start is a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Yep, really. That’s your starting point. It’s that simple. From there, you simply add on a few pieces and you have endless new looks to include as part of your fresh fall wardrobe.
The key is accessorizing. That’s it. If you do it right (and do not fret, dear broads, it’s not that easy to mess up) you’ll be set, day after day.
Check out my pointers to making this effortless concept work and take what you learn to your closet!
Outfit Base 1: White Tee and Dark Skinny Jeans
Natural meets fun. Accent that white space with a long pendant necklace, grab a two-toned clutch and add some fun flair with an animal print on the bottom–just the pop you need to stand out, even with this look’s simplicity.
Outfit Base 2: White Tee and Black Ankle Jeans
Sporty meets chic. Step into your pair of ‘all-whites’ (your white sneakers), throw an infinity scarf around your neck and top yourself off with a fedora. Look out Denver, this broads ready to hit the streets (in style).
Outfit Base 3: Long-sleeve Black V-Neck Long-sleeve Tee and Black Ankle Jeans
Sophisticated meets feminine. All black can be a great canvas to start with–make it an outfit by draping a blanket scarf over your shoulders, throwing on your fav pair of stiletto pumps and adding in some shiny detail with a couple pieces of complimentary jewelry.
Outfit Base 4: Long-sleeve Black V-Neck Long-sleeve Tee and Dark Skinny Jeans
Confident meets flirty. Put a little sass in your step with some black heels, and do a messy cuff with your jeans to show off your ankles. Accentuate your neck with a fun statement piece, this is what will make the outfit. Grab a black purse to tote your goods and voila!
Small tweaks go a long way…
Changing up a couple small elements of your outfit can make you look and feel significantly different.
Left: Making two subtle adjustments will take your black shirt/dark denim outfit to a polished and professional look for your big work presentation meeting: Throw on a fitted blazer (I like to lighten it up by rolling the sleeve up) and leave your jeans uncuffed.
Right: A couple simple swaps will have you looking fun and sexy for that trendy happy hour with the ladies: Slide into a pair of sleek leggings and adorn your feet with a pair of chic black booties. It’s go time.
And there you have it, broads. Now that you have the foundation set, go have some fun with it and and dress your stunning selves into the season!
